Why Do I Need a Will?

March 8, 2024 by By Beverly Carter, President of Think Local First Society & CEO of Carter Notary — Wills

Everybody needs a Will. A Will gives you the opportunity to think about what happens with your estate. It allows you to appoint the people or the charities that you want to appoint. A Will leaves you in charge of where your money goes. If you don’t have a Will, what happens then?

The province will decide what happens, and that isn’t necessarily what most people want. It’s really important to have a Will because it appoints the who and in the way that you want your estate to go.
Where do you want your money to go? Do you have a favorite grandchild that you want to benefit or a charity that you want to gift? Would you like your estate to stay in your bloodline, another family member to get it, or an in-law to inherit your estate?

Contact Carter Notary today to find out how we can help you with your Real Estate, Notarization, and Estate Planning needs.
