During Love Local Week in Greater Victoria (YYJ), I had the honour of hosting a Think Local First members’ table at the Victoria Chamber luncheon welcoming the new Victoria Police Department Chief, Fiona Wilson.
As President of Think Local First, it was inspiring to hear Chief Wilson share her vision for the City of Victoria, BC, and the importance of collaboration in building a safe, vibrant community.

Victoria Business Leaders Supporting Local
Joining me at our table were outstanding members of our Greater Victoria business community:
- Kerry Brown – TLF Board Member & Owner, Success Biz Coach

Supporting More Than Just Local Businesses
At Think Local First, we believe a thriving local economy depends on strong partnerships between businesses, civic leaders, non-profits, schools, and public services. Public safety, economic vitality, and community well-being are interconnected.
On my way back to the office that day, I felt inspired to stop by the Victoria Police Department to send a little local love as part of #LoveLocalYYJ. Because supporting local isn’t just about where we shop. It’s also about uplifting the organizations and leaders who serve our community every day.
Building a Stronger YYJ Together
Greater Victoria thrives when we work together. When local businesses, police services, City Hall, charities, and community organizations collaborate, we create a resilient and prosperous region for everyone.
Love Local Week is a reminder that choosing local strengthens our economy, deepens relationships, and builds a stronger Victoria, BC.
Let’s continue to support local.
Let’s continue to collaborate.
Let’s continue to lead with community.
