There are key reasons why and when you should update your Will.
First of all, look at your Will every three to five years. We look at common key life events or life changes when updating your Will. For example, a move, a divorce, a new marriage, the death of a spouse, or new people added into your family are all reasons to update your Will.
Your Will will also need to be updated if you win the lottery. Perhaps you have charities now or other people that you would want to gift after winning the lottery.
Updates are fine tuning your Will which allows you to meet your current estate needs for the current people and interests of who you want to name.
If you have a Will and a major life event happens, and if any one of the people in the Will has changed, or your relationship with them has changed, those are reasons to update your will. We want to make sure that you have a clear plan when updating your Will.
