Richard Gardner, Notary Public, Associate

Richard (Rick) Gardner, Carter Notary

Carter Notary has a new Notary Public!

Richard (Rick) Gardner was born and raised in Victoria, BC, where he has been a proud resident throughout his life. A lifelong local with a global perspective, he was commissioned as a Notary in June 2023 after completing the Notary Program and earning a Certificate in Law from Queen’s University. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management.

Rick has always had a strong interest in sports and music. In his earlier years, he was actively involved in rugby and lacrosse. Today, he continues to participate in athletics by playing and coaching cricket during the spring and summer. During the winter, he occasionally plays hockey and is a certified level-2 bobsleigh pilot at Whistler, where he has competed at the Provincial level.

With a long-standing commitment to public service, Rick brings a wealth of experience to Carter Notary. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 28 years, spent many years with the Canadian Coast Guard, and remains active with his local Fire Department. Becoming a Notary allows him to continue supporting his community in a meaningful and professional capacity. We are very happy to have him on the team at Carter Notary, assisting clients with the documents for life’s notable moments.

When he’s not working, playing or coaching sports, or fighting fires, Rick loves spending time with his dog, Wendy. Wendy enjoys long walks and even longer naps.

Putting Out Fires In the Office and the Community

Notary Richard Gardner (Rick) brings calm, professionalism, and a great sense of humour to our office. Recently, he received a playful gift of a miniature fire extinguisher, which sparked a few laughs and reminded us of Rick’s real-world commitment to service.

Beyond his role as a trusted Notary Public in British Columbia, Rick volunteers with the Metchosin Fire Department, supporting public safety and giving back to the local community. While office “fires” are rare, our clients can count on Rick’s steady approach, attention to detail, and ability to handle even the most time-sensitive matters with confidence.

At Carter Notary, we’re proud to work alongside professionals who serve both our clients and our community!
